Our first double stroller is the Nano Duo Buggy from Mountain Buggy. Like the majority of the units in this review, this model is a twin stroller. This means that it has its seats in a side by side orientation. And with this unit, there will be a total of 4 wheels, with the ones at the back being double.

Can Be Used for Newborns

The Nano Duo Buggy has a total of 6 colors to choose from, and looks like your typical double stroller. However, this unit only weighs 20 pounds. Another good news is that you can use it as a travel system when you buy a car seat adapter. And to make it more newborn friendly, Mountain Buggy also offers a so-called cocoon accessory. This will ease your baby because he/she can face you instead.

Adjustable Seats, Harnesses, and Foot Rests

As for the seats for toddlers, they can accommodate 33 pounds each. Their backs also measure 26 inches and can recline pretty far for those naps. Your kids can also appreciate their adjustable leg rests for added comfort while they sleep. At the same time, getting strapped in the stroller is not irritating because Mountain Buggy uses padded and adjustable harnesses.

It is surprisingly narrow thanks to the fact that the rear wheels are parallel with the rest of the body. This model has a 17.6-pound storage capacity. Each of the seats has a basket underneath. And regardless of the reclining angle of the seats, accessing the baskets at the back is easy. Sadly, this model does not come with a parent tray or snack tray for the kids.

Other than that, getting each seat to recline is easy. You can do it with just one hand by squeezing the back adjustment.

Like the Nano Duo Buggy, the G-Link also allows the user to adjust the leg rests of each seat. All you have to do is unlock their side tabs and extend the leg rests to your desired length. Following the umbrella stroller from UPPAbaby is another umbrella model, except this time, it’s the Triumph unit from Maclaren. Among the other twin umbrella strollers in this review, this unit is the lightest at just 21 pounds. You might also appreciate that  the brand sells different parts of the stroller if a part happens to get broken.  This will save you money, instead of needing to replace the whole unit.

Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Frame and Durable Fabrics

The secret behind the model’s durable yet light composition is quite similar to our previous model. Triumph uses an aluminum frame. It is lightweight, but Maclaren boasts its durability because it is an aircraft-grade material. And if your kids accidentally spilled on the covers, you can quickly remove them and wash, as well. Not to mention, the fabrics feel heavy-duty, so we’re not worried about tearing them over time.

Like our previous strollers, the seats are independent of each other. This means you can recline them at different angles.

Prepare To…

Now, what we don’t like in the seats is the adjustability of their harnesses. The crotch strap doesn’t allow adjustment, and the three height settings for the shoulder straps is not as smooth to do. It would’ve made the adjustment much easier if the stroller uses no-rethread harnesses instead. We also think that people with poor dexterity can have a hard time unfastening buckles.

Water-Resistant Canopies

On the bright side, the canopy of each seat feels sturdy. They each have a sun visor, and we’re pleased that the hoods themselves are water-resistant. You can appreciate this, especially on days where there are light showers during your walk. However, they don’t have peek-a-boo windows like our previous units, and only have panel zippers for breathability and visibility.

Medium Storage

Behind these canopies are pockets for additional storage. While these pockets don’t have a zipper, their overlap covers are still useful in protecting their contents. Speaking of storage, you’ll have plenty of room to squeeze some basic baby gears under the seats. Each bin has a 4.4-pound capacity and can handle a small to medium-sized diaper bag. However, this unit does not come with cup holders and trays for the parent and children.

4-Wheel Suspension

Controlling and moving this stroller around is smooth. Your kids won’t feel too many bumps because this unit uses a four-wheel suspension system. The tires are also made of EVA foam. This makes them lightweight, yet also puncture-proof. You can also notice that compared to the previous units with only wheels on the four corners of the strollers, Maclaren has a total of 6.

And as for the brake system, it has a linked brake. This gives you the flexibility to engage it on either side, and feel a clunk to reassure you that it’s engaged. You can also choose to lock the front swivel wheels to give you more control in certain paths.

Lastly, carrying the Maclaren around is doable hands-free thanks to its straps. It folds pretty quick by lifting the brake pedal on either side. After this, you can press down on the safety levers on either side of the frame and push the handles forward to get the unit to collapse. First of all, it uses an aluminum frame similar to the previous units. This is a nice material because it is lightweight yet sturdy. We didn’t see the stroller leaning when two kids sit on it, so we think it will last you depending on usage.

Foam Handles

As for the maneuverability, it has your typical “umbrella” j-shaped handles. Both are coated in foam and are comfortable to grasp. But of course, expect that steering the stroller will require you to hold both handles.

The Drawback of an Advantage

For your kids’ comfort, you can pull the cord to recline the seat. Yes, you don’t have to exert pressure or push the back of the seat. At the same time, the fabric that it uses is water-resistant and durable, so you don’t have to worry about it tearing or fraying.

Slim Width

Other than the quality built, this stroller has a slim profile. Yes, it’s a side by side unit, but we have no problem pushing it through narrow doorways. This makes this model perfect for travels in busy paths. Speaking of maneuverability, Jeep Destination is at par with our previous models. It doesn’t have an adjustable handle, but being covered in foam helps in comfortability.

Locking Front Wheels and Rear Wheel-Suspension

You can also lock the front swivel wheels of this stroller so you can control it better on certain paths. At the same time, it has suspension on its rear wheels. What about sun protection? The canopies of Jeep Destination are straightforward. Each has an extendable sun visor and plastic peek-a-boo windows. And as we have mentioned earlier, the fabric of this stroller is water-resistant, so you know your kids are protected if you happen to have surprise rain showers in your travels.

Surprisingly Compact

Once you’re done walking around, you can release the wheels of the stroller to make it more compact. The folding mechanism of this stroller is simple, and we are very impressed by how much space it saves. It can stand upright for storage, and you can use the carrying strap to move it in and out of the car.

What’s Lacking?

Lastly, we are disappointed that this stroller doesn’t come with its own trays. You might need to buy separate snack trays from other brands. At the same time, there are no cup holders or parent tray for additional storage. On the one hand, the undercarriage bin is spacious enough for a full diaper bag, although the bar in the middle obstructs the opening. However, this is a common design flaw in almost all double strollers.

For starters, you’ll get generous primary undercarriage storage. No bar is obstructing the rear opening, so you can fit your diaper bags and additional baby gear in there with no sweat.

Multiple Pockets + Shopping Basket

At the same time, it has pockets for your essentials like phone and wallet at the back of the seat. Otherwise, you can use the extra mesh compartments inside the side of each seat for other items, or toys that your kids might need within reach. It also comes with one cup holder. One-Hand Steering But…

Navigating the Aero2 is impressive, since we’re able to steer it even with just one hand. You can also lock the rear wheels if you want additional control. However, we recommend putting additional lubrication on the wheels since they tend to lock. This is a significant drawback we’re noticing on this stroller, and it’s a common complaint among parents.

Adjustable Seats and Soft Harnesses

Like our previous strollers, the Aero2 allows adjustment on its reclining angle. The harnesses also feel soft to the touch, so they won’t rub and irritate your child’s skin. They adjust pretty quick too. The canopies of this stroller, on the other hand, also have flip-out visors to keep your little ones protected from UV rays. They also reach pretty far, so we think most kids will get full coverage with the canopies.

Folds Compact

We also like that the Aero2 folds compact. You get to save more storage space because you can pop the wheels out, and have it stand if you’re storing it in a small room. It self-stands already, so you don’t have to lean it against a structure as well. Otherwise, Aero2 gets pretty flat when folded if you prefer to store it laying down.

Kolcraft Cloud – Best Lightweight Side by Side Double Stroller

When you’re shopping for a side by side double stroller, you always have to consider its resulting width. This is because if it is too wide, it can limit you in using it in narrow places or crowded areas.

Disneyland-Approved Size

The Kolcraft Cloud only measures 31 inches wide, which we think is short enough, considering that it is a side by side double stroller. At the same time, it is only slightly over 23 pounds, so it’s not difficult to push around. And like the XL2 and Joovy Twin Groove, this stroller is also Disneyland-approved.

Convertible Harness

Both seats are cushioned, and their adjustable 5-point harnesses are also padded. They do recline using a sliding buckle, but not too deep enough, and don’t accept infant car seats. Therefore, children who can’t support their heads yet are not compatible to use this stroller.

Three-Tier Canopies

The canopies of Kolcraft are three-tier, which means you can extend them to cover your children comfortably. They are also independent of each other, so each child can have their preferred shade angle. Of course, each canopy has a mesh peek-a-boo window that you can cover as well.

When it comes to storage, Kolcraft uses two main undercarriage baskets. For us, they are spacious enough to carry a diaper bag for each child. What we like with these baskets is that you can also access their contents even if you’re at the front of the stroller. This can be very useful, especially if you’re parked somewhere, and you can’t go behind the stroller.

We are also pleased that each seat already has its own removable child tray with divisions for holding drinks and snacks. You will also have your own snack tray by the handle, with cup holders at each side.

Lastly, Kolcraft folds quite short, which can fit in most compact vehicles. However, be mindful that you have to position the front wheels facing straight when you collapse the frame. This way, they will fit well with the rear wheels and give you a better fold.

Evenflo Minno – Best Value for Money

Other than the Aero2, we also have another Evenflo unit called the Minno. This stroller is impressively short, measuring at only 27 inches wide. At the same time, it is only slightly over 25 pounds in weight. We think that this stroller gives you the best value for money, but you can add a bit more budget to get additional accessories.

Good Maneuverability

Note that this model is an umbrella stroller. Therefore, you’ll need to hold both j-shaped handles in maneuvering the stroller. Minno has suspension on its front wheels, which helps in preventing bounciness over rough surfaces. At the same time, you can also lock these wheels, so you can push the stroller better in curved paths.

Adjustable Seats and Foot Rests

As for the seats themselves, Minno is similar to our previous models in such a way that the two are independent of each other. You can recline them differently, and you can choose from 2 foot rest positions.

Straightforward UV Protection

The fabric all over the stroller feels durable, and the harnesses are covered in soft material for comfort. The canopies for the seat are also independent, and they each have an extending visor. The peek-a-boo windows for each canopy are plastic, similar to the ones in Jeep and Joovy.

Now, for the storage, the basket is big enough to carry standard diaper bags. However, there are no child trays with this purchase, and you have to buy the cup holder separately.

Our last lightweight stroller is our recommendation if you’re on a budget but needs something lightweight for traveling with two kids. Right off the bat, BABY JOY brags an 18-pound umbrella stroller that can accommodate two 35-pound children. And even though it’s light, the construction is also well-made, and the steel frame feels sturdy when sat on.

Quick-Release Harness

As for the recline, don’t expect a deep angle. Instead, there’s a buckle behind that you can undo to tilt the seats slightly. Each seat also utilizes a 5-point harness, and they are easy to release. Compared to needing to fumble around with the straps, you can quickly release them in one action. The straps themselves also feel smooth to the touch, so they wouldn’t irritate your children’s skin.

Extendable Canopies

At this price point, we are impressed that BABY JOY opted to use an adjustable canopy for each seat. You can elongate the front part more to access the sun visor, and for ventilation, a covered part at the rear is the mesh peek-a-boo window. We prefer this over plastic, just for better breathability.

Shock-Absorbing Front Wheels

The maneuverability of this stroller is nice because the wheels swivel smoothly. The front wheels absorb shock so that your children get a smoother ride on bumpy terrain. At the same time, you can quickly access the rear wheels’ brake system by foot, so you can engage it faster.

What’s Lacking?

As for the storage, you’ll get a cup holder by the handle and mesh pockets behind both of the seats. Compared to the previous units we reviewed, this stroller does not have an undercarriage.
